More Aid to Israel and What You Can Do About It

August 3rd, 2010

How You Can Affect U.S. Policy by Meeting with Your Members of Congress & More

Click here to sign up to organize a recess meeting with your Members of Congress, & get tips & resources for your meeting.
Last month, the House and Senate Appropriations Committees approved President Obama's request for $3 billion in military aid to Israel in the 2011 budget.

Before Israel can get this money though, all Members of Congress will have to vote to approve the budget in the fall.  While Congress is on its August recess, now is the perfect opportunity for you to organize a delegation to meet with your Members of Congress to express your opposition to military aid to Israel and other critical policy issues.

We've made it easy for you to find who is organizing a meeting in your Congressional district with an interactive map, to sign up to organize a meeting yourself, and to download tips and resources to help you plan your meeting by clicking here.

Can you please help us change U.S. policy toward Israel/Palestine for the better by organizing a meeting with your Members of Congress this month?

We've got a lot of additional resources to help you educate both your Members of Congress and people in your community about why we need to change U.S. policy toward Palestine/Israel to support human rights, international law, and equality.

We've updated our 111th Congressional Report Card (2009-2010) to include dozens of key policy issues.  Find out the positions your Members of Congress have taken on Israel/Palestine policy issues by clicking here.
Find out how much money your Congressional district provides in military aid to Israel and use this data to educate your Members of Congress about how this policy comes at a price tag that we can't afford both morally and financially.

Then sign up to get a free organizing packet with fact sheets, fliers, petitions, and postcards to educate and organize people in your community to oppose U.S. military aid to Israel.  Get your packet by clicking here.

Of course, policies don't change overnight.  They take place as a result of long-term organizing and long-term relationship building.  You should be a part of this process by joining our Congressional District Coordinator (CDC) network and helping us to create a nation-wide network of grassroots activists to create this change.  Learn more about what's involved in becoming a CDC and find out who is coordinating efforts in your Congressional district by clicking here.

If you find our resources valuable and empowering in our collective effort to end U.S. support for Israel's illegal 43-year military occupation of the Palestinian West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza Strip, then please consider making a generous tax-deductible donation to support our work

For a limited time, donate $25 or more and we'll send you a DVD of our awards dinner from our recent 9th Annual National Organizers' Conference, featuring keynote speaker Rep. Brian Baird (D-WA), and the Free Gaza Movement.

Thank you for everything that you do to support peace and justice!
