URGENT: Indiana Is Legislating against BDS-Again
The Indiana state legislature is at it again, wasting Hoosier taxpayer dollars by legislating against the Palestinian-led campaign for boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS), a nonviolent movement to achieve Palestiniansí long-denied rights to freedom, justice and equality.
Last year, the Indiana House and Senate passed resolutions condemning the BDS movement, endorsed by churches, labor unions, academic organizations, student governments, Pulitzer Prize-winning authors, and even Nobel Peace Prize awardees!
Last month, the Indiana House went even further, passing a billóHB1378óto set up a government blacklist of corporations and organizations which support BDS for the purpose of then divesting state funds from those entities.
But the fight isnít over yet. We can still stop this bill from becoming law.
The billís authors tried to sneak it through the legislative process and heard no testimony in opposition.
Why? Because they know that growing numbers of Hoosiers are supporting the BDS movement as a legitimate response to our governmentís complicity in enabling Israelís oppression of Palestinians.
While they succeeded in the House, letís mobilize now to show your state Senator just how many people support BDS in Indiana and donít want the state legislating against it.
Thanks for taking action.
