Target congresspersons to call for a General Accounting Office investigation to examine whether or not CAT is in violation of the Arms Export Control Act. This also targets congresspersons who receive PAC money from CAT to refuse CAT money in the next election. If you and/or your institution are interested in starting a local legislative CAT Campaign initiative, you should: Send an e-mail to organize@endtheoccupation.org that includes your organization’s name; your organization’s mission in 1-2 sentences; your city, state, and your contact information. This information will be placed on our “Local CAT FREE ZONES” map enabling organizations to contact one another nationally and/or enabling interested parties to join your efforts. To help you organize a local legislative CAT Campaign, we have provided a number of resources for you. 1) Find out who your Congressional representative is by clicking here.
3) Organize a group of constituents for the meeting. Meet beforehand to discuss your talking points and your presentation. 4) Prepare a folder for the legislative aide. Include a letter that introduces yourselves and explains your purpose for meeting. Also include the following resources:
