School Democratic and Republican Convention Goers
The US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation is partnering with United for Peace and Justice as a part of "Progressive Central," a five-day forum near the convention. From this base we'll be educating convention delegates, Members of Congress, and other activists about our issues.
Join us as a as a tutor at Progressive Central or sign up for a field trip to distribute information at delegates' hotels and outside of Mile High Stadium where 80,000 people are expected to witness Sen. Barack Obama's acceptance speech. The US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation is partnering with local member groups and allies in the Twin Cities area to raise the profile of our issues at the Peace Island Conference running parallel to the convention, September 2nd-4th.
We will also be participating in the Palestine Solidarity contingent during the Labor Day March on September 1st - look for the Palestinian flags near the Capitol Building to join us.
US Campaign National Organizer, Katherine Fuchs, will also be giving the workshop "Student Strategies for Ending Apartheid, from South Africa to Palestine"at Students for a Democratic Society RNC Convergence. This workshop will focus on how students can build campus boycott and divestment campaigns to bring justice to Palestine & Israel. This workshop will run at 2pm on Sunday, August 31st and again at 7pm on Tuesday, September 2nd. Both workshops will be in the Macalester College Fine Arts Lounge.
