April 15, 2009

This Tax Day, as President Obama prepares to send his FY2010 budget request to Congress later this month, which is expected to include $2.775 billion in military aid to Israel, or $17.75 for each individual taxpayer, people across the country are protesting our taxes going to fund Israel’s human rights abuses of Palestinians.

Offset your contribution of $17.75 to Israeli military occupation on Tax Day by clicking the button to the left.

In Albuquerque, the Coalition to Stop $30 Billion to Israel has put up around town ten of the billboards to the right and has been getting a lot of positive feedback.

In cities such as Cambridge, MA, St. Louis, MO, Medford, MA, Houston, TX, and Pacifica, CA, activists will distribute educational materials outside of post offices and march on Congressional offices.

And in San Francisco, the American Friends Service Committee and Interfaith Witness for Middle East Peace are putting the final touches on an April 26thCitizen Hearings on the Impact of US Weapons on Civilians in Gaza,” to be held at the city’s Department of Health.
