Take Action to Hold Caterpillar Accountable
Wednesday is Caterpillar's shareholder meeting, their annual day in the media spotlight. It's up to us to make sure that the media gets the story right. The media may want to focus on Caterpillar CEO Jim Owens' appointment to President Obama's Economic Recovery Advisory Committee, but we have to remind them that the real story is Caterpillar's culpability for home demolitions and the Israel's apartheid wall. We must make it clear that Caterpillar can build the US Economy without destroying Palestinian Livelihoods!
The
US Campaign will be joining our member groups Jewish Voice for Peace,
Chicagoans Against Apartheid in Palestine, and the Arab-Jewish
Partnership for a Just Peace in the Middle East at the Caterpillar
shareholder meeting in Chicago. Together, with sympathetic Catholic shareholders
and Hampshire College students we will be presenting a shareholder
resolution on military sales and protesting outside the meeting. Help
us amplify our voice at the shareholder meeting by contributing to our online
ad in the business section of the Chicago Tribune. A tax-deductible
donation of just $33 will ensure that 1000 more people will see our
advertisement.
Thousands of US Campaign supporters have already taken action and it's easy to join them! We're only 1000 emails away from our goal of sending Caterpillar's management 4000 emails protesting their sales to the Israeli military. Click here to help us reach our goal by the shareholders' meeting on Wednesday, June 10th.
There are also several opportunities to get involved in June 10th events. Join us in Chicago or another city hosting a Stop Caterkiller action.
