Meet with Your Members of Congress in December
Many Members of Congress will be in their home districts in December. Now is the perfect time for your group to request a meeting with your Members of Congress and make your voices heard directly by decision-makers. Constituent meetings with Members of Congress are a highly effective way to influence policy-making.
The U.S. Campaign is urging constituents to meet with their Members of Congress in December to discuss: 1) Support for an investigation into possible violations of the Arms Export Control Act (AECA) through Caterpillar bulldozer sales to the Israeli military; 2) The President's decision to deduct $289.5 million from Israel's loan guarantees, and; 3) Support for the Rachel Corrie Resolution (House Concurrent Resolution 111).
** See the end of this message for resources to support all these demands - including the excellent new National Lawyers Guild position paper on the Wall. **
Meeting with your Members of Congress gives you an opportunity to demonstrate to them that they have constituents who believe strongly that U.S. foreign policy toward the Israeli-Palestinian conflict should be based on human rights and international law. To increase the number of constituents that your group is able to mobilize, please consider sponsoring house parties, educational forums, public meetings, demonstrations, etc. The more people we can mobilize, the more we will be able to affect the decisions of our government.
If you would like to coordinate a visit to your Member of Congress, please send the following contact information to firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can send other interested constituents your way and so that we can continue to coordinate with you in the future.
