Help Us Put a Message in the New York Times to End Aid to Israel!

Ceasefire in Gaza Announced:
Our Work Is Just Beginning

A few hours ago, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. To view the reported text of the ceasefire, click here.

Israelís eight-day attack on the Gaza Strip killed more than 140 Palestinians, including at least 91 civilians and 28 children, according to the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights. In addition, five Israelis were killed by Palestinian rockets. The US Campaign strongly condemns all acts of violence against civilians.

Although a ceasefire has been announced, our work is just beginning. Even as the Thanksgiving holiday approaches and as a tenuous truce takes hold, we all need to step up our activism to end Israelís illegal blockade of Gaza and U.S. military aid to Israel and to advocate for justice and accountability. Hereís some of what weíre doing and how can you join in the efforts:

Help Us Put An Ad in the New York Times! Thanks to your generous support, we've been running these ads on Facebook and Google since last week to build support for our political demands. More than 1.5 million people have seen these ads and thousands have contacted the White House as a result.

Now weíre stepping up our ad campaign with our first-ever online ad in the New York Times! Make your tax-deductible donation to the US Campaign to support this ad in the nationís premier newspaper.

Spread the word about how Israel is using U.S. weapons to injure and kill Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Yesterday, we released this case study documenting that U.S. taxpayers gave Israel $2.7 billion in F-16 fighter jets and components in the previous decade and that these weapons are now being used to commit grave human rights abuses of Palestinians.

Contact President Obama and demand that the United States work to end Israelís illegal blockade of the Gaza Strip and end U.S. military aid to Israel. Nearly 6,000 of you have already contacted the White House from our website, but we clearly need more calls and emails to change U.S. policy. Help us get this call out far and wide by posting it to Facebook and Twitter.

Member groups around the country are speaking out against Israel's brutal attacks on Gaza.

Join an emergency protest near you in the upcoming days. If you donít see one near you, organize one yourself and add it to this list. We've put together this template media release for your protest. Check out our growing list of resources from member groups and friends of the US Campaign for more background info and toolkits. Be sure to post to our tumblr site pictures, videos and media releases of your protests.

Make your voice heard in the media. Write a letter-to-the-editor or an op-ed. Call in to a radio talk show. Use our media talking points here. Check out this media release we sent out earlier today before the ceasefire announcement and modify it for your local groupís purposes.

Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions. In light of Israel's ongoing brutality against Gaza, Palestinians have asked us to redouble our efforts for boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) on Israel until it ends its abuses of Palestinian rights. This Friday, "Black Friday," is one of the biggest shopping days of the year. Join member groups nationwide that are calling for a Black Friday Day of Action to Boycott SodaStream, which is produced in Israeli settlements. Click here for the call to action and great resources, including leaflets, store letters, and more. Also, check out member group Code Pink's 12 Ways to Occupy Black Friday, including more ways to boycott SodaStream and Ahava. Spread the word: In solidarity with Gaza, boycott SodaStream this holiday season!

Thank you for your continued action to end Israel's illegal blockade of the Gaza Strip and end U.S. aid to Israel.
