The World Says No to the Bush Agenda! at the Republican National Convention, New York City

August 28th, 2004

The US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation will be taking part in activities to protest the Republican National Convention (RNC) in New York City on August 28-29.  Meet up with us and get involved.  Here's how:

1) Books Not Bombs Youth Convergence. The US Campaign is a cosponsor of the Books Not Bombs Youth Convergence, organized by the National Youth and Student Peace Coalition.  The convergence will take place on Saturday, August 28 at Saint Mark's Church, 131 East 10th Street in Manhattan from 9AM-6PM.  Join us for workshops, networking, skills training and more.  Agenda, registration forms and more details can be found at: http://www.nyspc.net/

2) United for Peace and Justice, The World Says No to the Bush Agenda!  The US Campaign is a member of United for Peace and Justice and a cosponsor of its massive protest at the RNC.

On Sunday, August 29th, the day before the Republican National Convention opens in New York City, massive numbers of people will take to the streets to say we've had enough of war, greed, hate, and lies.  We'll be there--won't you join us?

Make history at this peaceful, legal and permitted march past Madison Square Garden.  Join with people from all walks of life as we send a strong, clear message of peace and justice during this election year.  Now is the time to make your voice heard!

More information can be found at: http://www.unitedforpeace.org

3) Palestine Contingent at UFPJ March.  Meet up with US Campaign on Sunday, August 29 at 10:00AM, at the Palestine contingent assembly area on the northwest corner of 21st Street and 7th Ave.  Take the 1/9/C/E/F/V subway lines to 23rd St to reach the contingent assembly area.  We'll be joining with the Palestine contingent, which is being organized by the Palestine Action Forum of New York.  A map with the contingent assembly area can be found at: http://www.unitedforpeace.org/article.php?id=2528

4) Volunteer to spread the word about the US Campaign.  The US Campaign is looking for volunteers who are coming to the UFPJ march to distribute leaflets, sign up new members, and sell t-shirts.

We've created a one-page PDF file that can be cut into four leaflets called "Say No to the Bush Agenda of Support for Israel's Military Occupation!"  You can download it at: http://www.endtheoccupation.org/downloads/RNCflier[1].pdf

We've also created a sign-up sheet for the US Campaign that can be downloaded at: http://www.endtheoccupation.org/downloads/sign_up_sheet.doc

If you'd like to volunteer to help us distribute leaflets, sign up new members, and sell t-shirts, please fill out the short form at:

We'll be in touch to coordinate with you.

5) Take part in a local protest.  For those who aren't able to come to New York, UFPJ is enouraging local actions to protest the Republican National Convention.  Actions are taking place all over the country.  A calendar of events can be found at: http://www.unitedforpeace.org/article.php?list=type&type=28
