Take Action on Social Media to Boycott SodaStream!

Thank you for taking action to urge Hollywood Scarlett Johansson to stand on the right side of history and end her deal to become a Global Brand Ambassador for occupation profiteer SodaStream.

Due to pressure from groups and activists working for Palestinian rights across the globe, Scarlett this past week announced she was stepping down as an Oxfam International Global Ambassador, making it clear one cannot represent the fight against poverty and injustice while shilling for a company whose main factory is based in an illegal Israeli settlement in the West Bank built on stolen Palestinian land.

The story has been a media sensation and is bringing lots of attention to the growing boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) movement. As Rafeef Ziadah, a spokesperson with the Palestinian BDS National Committee, said: "This controversy has shined a light on the fact that SodaStream is at the heart of Israelís system of occupation, colonization, and apartheid. Retailers that stock SodaStream can no longer claim they are unaware of the role the company plays in Israeli violations of international law and consumers across the world will now see through SodaStreamís claims to be an ethical company."

We need your help to use all this attention to support the growth of boycott SodaStream campaigns! SodaStream will be airing its ad featuring Scarlett during the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl tonight (kickoff is at 6:30pm EST). Join the US Campaign and our partners CODEPINK: Women for Peace, Jewish Voice for Peace, Adalah-NY: The NY Campaign for the Boycott of Israel, and others to generate a social media storm to further raise awareness about SodaStream and its complicity in Israel's brutal military occupation.

The Institute for Middle East Understanding has created two infographics you can share highlighting land expropriation and SodaStream mislabeling its products as "Made in Israel."

Join or start a boycott SodaStream campaign in your city! Search our BDS map to find groups around you working on a campaign that you can support. If there is no local campaign, consider starting one! You can find lots of resources at endtheoccupation.org/sodastream.
