Have Your Mother Tell Rachael Ray to Boycott SodaStream

There is Nothing Empowering about Occupation & Apartheid!

We got news this past Thursday that television personality Rachael Ray has partnered with SodaStream on a "MOMPOWERMENT" contest meant to honor moms during the month of May.

Let Rachael Ray know that as settlement manufacturer, SodaStream profits from the disempowerment of Palestinians, including mothers, living under a brutal military occupation and system of apartheid!

  • Take a picture of your mother or a selfie. Hold a sign with a message about SodaStream like "I am a Mother and Won't Buy SodaStream" or "Moms know best. Boycott SodaStream!"
  • On Facebook? Submit your photo through SodaStream's contest page here.
  • On Twitter? Tweet your photo using hashtag #MOMPOWERMENT, and make sure to include @RachaelRayShow and @rachaelray.
  • Send your photo to membership@endtheoccupation.org so we can collect and send them to Rachel Ray too!
There are two other quick actions you can take to further efforts to boycott SodaStream.

  • Do you have a Groupon account? During the week of April 28, Groupon was promoting a deal for 37% off SodaStream machines. Log into your account, go to "Customer Support," select "General questions and feedback" then "I have feedback about Groupon," and click "Continue." Write a short note about how Groupon should not be selling through its site a product manufactured in a factory in an illegal Israeli settlement on stolen Palestinian land. Find talking points here

  • On Earth Day, Ellen DeGeneres gave out SodaStream machines to audience members of her show. Send an email through her website explaining how SodaStream's support for environmental causes is an attempt to clean up its image as a company complicit in Israel's violations of Palestinian rights. Thank you for taking action.
