Will you ensure more victories after Lauryn Hill?

This week, Grammy award-winning rapper and R&B singer Lauryn Hill thrilled fans and human rights supporters from North America to South Africa to Ramallah with her ground-breaking announcement cancelling her planned upcoming concert in Tel Aviv.

From Stevie Wonder to Scarlett Johansson, we know from experience that celebrity actions are game-changers -- generating major headlines and slowly but surely mainstreaming the movement for Palestinian liberation.

Indeed, within 24 hours, Ms. Hillís principled stand reached millions via People Magazine,Rolling Stone, BET,Entertainment Weekly,LA Times, The New York Times, NBC, Associated Press, MSNBC, Christian Science Monitor, Jezebel, Al Jazeera, USA Today, and other major media. We hope you took a moment to celebrate this tremendous breakthrough!

These game-changing victories do not come spontaneously; they are hard-earned -- the result of sustained, strategic, group efforts. And we need your support to realize them.

The US Campaign worked with an international coalition to lead a careful, creative, public and behind-the-scenes campaign appealing to Ms. Hill to do the right thing, with leading partners including both the Palestinian and U.S. Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI and USACBI).

Will you give $25, $50, $100, or more today to sustain and grow our capacity to help lead cultural boycott campaigns around more figures like Lauryn Hill?

We do these campaigns to support the Palestinian-led call for cultural boycott of Israel. We do them because we know that Israel will not stop its abuses of Palestinian rights until the cost of maintaining them becomes too great. Because while Palestinian fans of Lauryn Hill understand the realities of military occupation, Israeli fans cannot simply remain oblivious to them. There can be no business as usual with Israelís apartheid regime.

This is how we nonviolently impose a tangible cost to Israelís actions. This is how we bring the story of Palestine to television sets and doorsteps around the country, changing hearts and minds. This is how momentum for justice in Palestine becomes too strong to be stopped.

So while you celebrate this victory, please take a moment to invest in many more.

Thank you to Ms. Lauryn Hill for her courage to do the right thing. Thank you to the 11,237 people who signed our petition. Thank you to coalition partners and member groups. And thanks to you for being the only reason we can keep doing this -- by making a generous donation to the US Campaign today.
