Take Action: Get Congress to Attend Hill Briefing on Gaza

WATCH: Eman Mohammed's TED talk.

“I became a witness with a choice: to run away or stand still.” That’s how Eman Mohammed, the first female photojournalist in the Gaza Strip, concluded this TED talk, viewed by more than one million people.

Tomorrow, Eman will share her harrowing pictures and stories from Israel’s attack on the Gaza Strip last summer on Capitol Hill. We need to make sure that your Members of Congress and their staffers attend this briefing we’re organizing and that all Americans can watch it.

That’s why we’re asking you today to take a few minutes to make three phone calls.

Click here to get contact information for your two Senators and Representative to ask them to attend the briefing. You can also send them an email here.

Nadia Ben-Youssef of Adalah: The Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Israel and Brad Parker of Defense for Children International Palestine will be joining Eman to discuss Israel’s war crimes in Gaza, its predictable failure to hold itself accountable, and the need for the United States and international community to do so.

And if you’re in the Washington, DC area, you’re invited to attend the briefing in person Wednesday, July 29, 12PM noon, at 121 Cannon House Office Building.

This briefing is being cosponsored by the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, American Friends Service Committee, American Muslims for Palestine, Friends Committee on National Legislation, Jewish Voice for Peace, Just World Books, Middle East Children's Alliance, United Methodist Kairos Response, and the US Palestinian Community Network.

At the briefing, we’ll be distributing this draft letter to Congressional offices asking them to write Secretary of State Kerry demanding a US investigation into Israel’s killing of Palestinian children and its wanton destruction of Palestinian homes with US weapons.

After you call your Members of Congress, be sure to spread the word on Facebook and Twitter.

Thank you for taking action and helping us to bring this important information to the attention of Members of Congress and the public.
