* Kansas City Regional Conference: On Saturday, November 13, 2004 the US Campaign and Citizens for Justice in the Middle East will conduct a one-day skills-building and organizing conference at the University of Missouri, Kansas City. The goals of this conference are to support and mobilize activists in this region of the country, and to continue strengthening our national network of organizers. An agenda, registration, and housing information are on the web at: http://www.endtheoccupation.org/article.php?list=type&type=87. Citizens for Justice in the Middle East, a Kansas City based member organization of the US Campaign, is hosting this conference. The website of the group is www.cjme.org
*The US Campaign Resources Task Force is looking for volunteers to help with a variety of tasks, such as searching for online resources dealing with the Israeli occupation of Palestine, soliciting public information materials from our member organizations, and working with our web coordinator.  The Resources Task Force is one of five task forces established at the 3rd annual conference of the US Campaign in June through which we will carry out our education and mobilization work (see the conference report at http://www.endtheoccupation.org/article.php?id=370).  We’ll be producing and/or locating resources on the occupation, US policy, and international law - as well as on the 5 priority areas for education & outreach decided at the annual conference: The Wall; Caterpillar; Divestment; the Right of Return; and Dual Occupations.  We’ll also be managing and updating our website so that member groups activists will be able to find what they need when they need it.  If you're interested, send an email to outreach@endtheoccupation.org telling us who you are and what skills you would bring to this work. We'll be holding a conference call to decide on a workplan, and set up a listserv to facilitate exchanges between the members of the Task Force.

* International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinians, November 29, 2004: The US Campaign will be mobilizing nationally for this important international day of solidarity.  We encourage people around the country to organize educational events, distribute educational resources and collect signatures for the US Campaign’s petition to the President-Elect.  More information about the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian people, as well as resources for distribution can be found on the web at http://www.endtheoccupation.org/article.php?id=400
*In the coming months the US Campaign hopes to be organizing throughout the South and Southeast United States.  If you live in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia or Florida and you would be interested in organizing a speaking event for the US Campaign, please contact us at outreach@endtheoccupation.org
* Now that election 2004 is over and a new Congress has been elected are working hard to create a new and improved online report card for the new 109th Congress.  Please check periodically on www.endtheoccupation.org for updates on this project as we will be working on this project for the next several months.

Palestine Media Watch (PMW), a member of the US Campaign, was established in 2000 in order to promote fair and accurate coverage of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in the US mainstream media.  PWM identifies and acts on journalistic failures in covering Israel and Palestine, as well as helps media outlets to gain access to pro-Palestinian points of view and voices.
Most recently, PMW has distributed an action alert to address the New York Times’ “one-dimensional lambasting of the Palestinian leader and its relentless distortion of recent history and basic facts from its high editorial perch.”  To take action with PMW visit http://www.pmwatch.org/pmw/mediocrity/displayCall.asp?essayID=259 for background resources and ideas for action.

*November 9-16, 2004 marks the 2nd International Week of Action Against the Apartheid Wall.  Last year the US Campaign created a student resource for those who are organizing against the Wall.  This resource includes many ideas for action and education.  For a PDF version of this resource visit http://www.endtheoccupation.org/article.php?list=type&type=76
