The Division for Palestinian Rights at the United Nations annually commemorates this day of solidarity on the anniversary of the adoption of the 1947 UN partition plan for Palestine. The partition plan called for the establishment of independent Jewish and Arab States in Palestine. However, 57 years later, there still is not an independent Arab State in Palestine.
Groups such as Churches for Middle East Peace and the US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation are sponsoring events throughout the country to mark the day.
An evening of information about the situation "on the ground" in the Occupied Territories of Palestine. We will watch the film, "Peace, Propaganda, and the Promised Land." Leaflets on many topics will be available, and we will have time to exchange thoughts and ideas.
Please invite your friends.
