How would Martin Luther King open minds and hearts to needed change in Israel-Palestine – and in the United States?

Led by Tarek Abuata

With Co-Trainers Avery Blakeney and Harold Vines

Saturday and Sunday

September 25–26, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Festival Center/Servant Leadership School
1640 Columbia Road, N.W., Washington, D.C.
About 3 blocks from Columbia Heights Metro Station

Cost: $75 (includes two lunches)

SPACE IS LIMITED – REGISTER TODAY!

The workshop introduces Kingian nonviolence and helps participants acquire the skills to promote justice and social change. After participants have a good grasp of the basics of the Kingian approach, we will discuss how it might be applied in our community to promote compassionate awareness of the Israel-Palestine conflict.

Tarek Abuata has co-led many workshops, including ones with Dr. Bernard Lafayette, who worked directly with Dr. King. Tarek is the Palestinian support coordinator for the Christian
Peacemaker Teams, Director of Partner Relations at UPA, and a volunteer with Love Thy
Neighbor, which trains Palestinian students in Kingian nonviolence.

Avery Blakeney is a certified Level Two Trainer in Kingian nonviolence and the ordained
minister of Lighthouse Ministries, which focuses on social justice.

Harold Vines is a certified Level Two trainer in Kingian Nonviolence and focuses on racial
reconciliation through instructional classes and leadership of the Potter’s House Roundtable discussions.
