Washington, DC -- A 30-second commercial on Israel's war on the Gaza Strip censored by DIRECTV will appear beginning today on popular blogs such as as Daily Kos, Wonkette, The Smirking Chimp, The Washington Monthly, Talk Left, and a dozen others.

The advertising campaign, sponsored by the US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation, is expected to be viewed by more than ten million blog readers over the next week. The original commercial can be viewed on-line by clicking here.

According to Josh Ruebner, National Advocacy Director of the US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation, "This ad campaign is designed to educate people about our country's role in enabling Israel's war on and siege of Palestinians in the occupied Gaza Strip. It also encourages people to contact the President to urge him not to include an expected $2.775 billion in military aid for Israel in his upcoming budget request. Israel should be held accountable for its misuse of U.S. weapons in Gaza, not rewarded with more."

The US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation originally had planned to air this commercial on national satellite provider DIRECTV, which after extensive discussions abruptly refused to accept the ad. For additional details about DIRECTV's censorship of the ad, please click here.

The US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation is a national coalition of more than 250 organizations working to change to U.S. policy toward Israel/Palestine to support human rights, international law, and equality. For more information about the US Campaign, please click here.
