Stop the Occupation of Our Minds
Saturday, October 25th 2003 1p-4p
Houston, Texas

The war in Iraq is not over. It is heating up more and more every day. This war continues to be fought on false pretexts, and has resulted in thousands and thousands of deaths for Iraq's defenseless population, as well as increasing American casualties. Meanwhile, the occupations of Afghanistan and Palestine continue apace, with resistance on every front and no end in sight.

Basta ya! Bring the troops home now! As thousands gather in Washington DC in response to the calls by national peace groups (see Washington Post excerpt below), we will be marching and rallying in downtown Houston in solidarity. Please join us this Saturday for this nonviolent, permitted event!

1:00 pm Gather at the Mickey Leland Federal Building, 1919 Smith
1:30 pm - 3:30 pm Rally at Tranquility Park, near the corner of Smith and Rusk (weather permitting -- this is an outdoor event)

Dick Underhill -- Texas Coordinator for Veterans for Peace (VFP)
Anne Bayerkohler -- Military Families Speak Out
Henry Cooper -- Latinos Por La Paz
Plus a few words from candidates for local office who support peace.

Live music and sound system by SOUNDCHICK!
