It also touches on the future of the city: Jerusalem is the key to peace; without Jerusalem, there is no peace for anyone. At Hale 230, CU, Boulder at 7 p.m. Free.
Boulder, CO: An evening with Arab American poet Lisa Suhair Majaj

Palestinian-American poet Lisa Suhair Majaj will do a poetry reading. Majaj has published two chapbooks, These Words and What She Said. Her poems have also been published widely. Majaj also writes critical essays on literature and women. She has just published a collection of poetry, Geographies of Light, and is working on an anthology of Arab-American literature from the beginning of the 20th century to the present. Middle Eastern desserts following poetry reading. Event starts at 7 p.m. at Friends Meeting House at 1825 Upland Avenue in Boulder. Fundraiser for RMPJC and KGNU. $10-20, no one turned away for lack of funds.
Denver, CO: A Quaker Perspective on Palestine and Peacemaking

Guest speaker Jim Fine will update the group on recent events in the region and FCNL's efforts. Jim Fine is the Foreign Policy Expert for the Friends Committee on National Legislation in Washington DC. He has lived in Beirut, Jerusalem, Ramallah, and Baghdad. For over three decades, he has traveled extensively throughout the region meeting with political, social, and religious leaders and developing relationships of trust and confidence. He has served as the American Friends Service Committee’s International Affairs representative in the Middle East and worked with the Middle East Council of Churches. Jim speaks and reads Arabic. He will have just returned from a trip to Palestine and Israel.
